I feel that intros and conclusions of a particular piece of writing, or a speech, are the two most important parts. If your intro sucks, then people are most likely going to get bored, frustrated, and either stop reading or listening. If your conclusion sucks, then it shows that you cant really tie everything together. The section on conclusions for this weeks reading was very informative and is pretty straitforward about what a good conclusion should do or should contain.

Ethos in Writing
Posted March 25th, 2008 by rcozzieI think that pages 192-193 are trying to say that ethos is the more important in writing than logos or pathos, because you have to shape your writing to appeal to the emotions and beliefs of your different readers in order for them to fully understand your writing, take it to heart, and, depending on the tone of it and the topic, to potentially not offend anyone.
"The Plantiff Speaks"
Posted March 19th, 2008 by rcozzieWhile reading the essay I found the way that the girl made her decision to change schools her senior year and attend the all white one, and I also found the decision itself a little suprising, although it wasn't at all unexpected. "Although Momma said I didn't have to do it if I didn't want to, I could tell she wanted me to agree.
Researching
Posted February 28th, 2008 by rcozzieThe chapter on research brought up points that I had never thought about, and when I think on how I have been researching in the past I believe that I might have been doing it all wrong, or at least un-ethical. When I was asked to do research papers in the past, all I would do is find some information that proved my point or secured my beliefs in whatever the topic might have been. I was never really open to changing my beliefs or changing the topic, and I certainly never thought that there was an ethical way to research.
University Of Southern Indiana
Posted January 17th, 2008 by rcozzieThe website for the University of Southern Indiana isn't not necessaril poorly designed, however, it doesn't meet the standards that an audience would expect when visiting a University website. The homepage for USI looks more like a poorly designed my-space page or the website for some quirky on-line news source. It doesn't appear official and seems as if it would lack credibility if put up against a better designed, more official looking University website.
