I read the section on using transition in writing to signal structure to readers because i always have problems with transitioning from on thought to another. There was a list of transitional phrases to help you out: to indicate sequences(first second, third etc), to show position (below, beyond, here), to emphasize a point(even, indeed, in fact), to provide an example(for example, for instance, namely), to show addition of ideas(additionally, again, also and, as well), to show similarity(but, however, in spite of) and the list continues.

A lot of people have talked about the cropping section that we had to read. I found that section most interesting. I never thought about cropping the different parts of the picture then placing them in a different place. Doing this could change the image's meaning. The photograph on page 356 is cropped in 12 different ways. Each has a different meaning from the original picture. People can crop pictures to direct the viewers attention to particular things. When I research I mostly use the internet. But my last year in high school we had a research project that forced us to use books from the library. Because of the project I use the library more, it gives you a different feeling when you have all the books in front of you. Students shouldn't only limit there research to the internet, the library offers some really interesting and helpful information. I find the diagram on page 154 really interesting I never really thought about someone doing research in neighborhoods or in organizations.
