Whats up?

So, how was Germany? What about Japan? I'm sure they're awesome and pretty cool after spending so much time in Brazil. How is the wifey? Ela fala, ne? I always figured she would. How many cars you got now? Living in LA? Got any good DJ gigs, did you even stick with that?

Anyway, since I'll have to wait to find out the answers to that. Remember a few things. If you're happy, you're successful. Don't forget who you are and where you've come from, if you start to forget that, go take a vacation. I figure I don't need to tell you to love the people around you. I'm not really sure what else I need to do besides remind you of a few things. I think you're a smart guy, so I'm going to let you figure out the hard things on the way... Smiling

Ah! Your 10th birthday... Or is it mine? Well maybe I should get to who I am. I'm you, or you're me. Anyway, I'm writing this from the future. Just read, listen and remember.

Hard Lesson

When reading the assignment I couldn't think of anything right off hand, but then I remembered a few good stories. I always seem to recall a time when I wanted to do something and my father has told me "don't mess with that" or "I'll help you with it tomorrow." Of course, being myself I wanted to jump right into it that night, or try something new. Usually this happens with "do it yourself" things that I always try to do. Clearly, I've picked up plenty of lessons, but one that always will stick in my mind is the first time I painted by myself. When painting, 80% of the work isn't actually painting, it's preparation. When I first wanted to paint, I planned on using a spray can. It is so simple, right?

Stay in, Study at your dorm.

"Clack Clack Clack" as the heaters warm the room. Sipping on a coke while reading your math book, or working on a word document. Listen to some of your favorite music, on your iPod, or talk to your friend about solving that problem. I've only gone down 4 floors from my room, and I'm in the perfect study area. Stacks less than 200 feet away from me, I can take a break when I want, or need, rather. Forget something in your room? Run upstairs and get it real quick. While some choose to go off and get coffee and study, or go to Hicks, I've found that staying in your dorm is the best place to study. I'm not sure if all the dorms have designated study areas, but my dorm, Earhart, does. I choose to study there, and it has been working wonders for me.

Meu Historia

Hi, my name is Jackson de Oliveira, and I am a freshman here at Purdue. I'm currently in Engineering, but I plan to change to C&IT, Computer and Information Technology. I'm from Durham, North Carolina, about 20 miles north of Raleigh, the capital. I can't go on without saying something that I'm most proud of, being 1/2 Brazilian. As you can see in the title, I speak Portuguese. If you're wondering what exactly it says, it translates to "My story." I was never schooled in Portuguese, so I do have some errors when writing and speaking. I always loving meeting people from different backgrounds, I feel it gives you a better outlook on life. I have plenty of hobbies, mainly cars(cliche) and music, among other things. I look forward to meeting all of you in the class.
