Really?! You are actually 30!?

Hey you! I cannot believe you are 30!!! Don't you feel SO old?! I never thought the day would come where I would actually be that old!! Well first of all, I would like to apologize for college. My freshman year was rough, but hopefully I picked a major soon enough that it didn't take you 5 or 6 years to graduate! And whatever it was that I picked, I hope you absolutely love it, and are successful enough to support yourself! If not, hopefully you married rich! Haha just kidding! Also, I apologize for being so indecisive all those years, hopefully I grew out of it! But I guarantee that we had a good time at Purdue!

Dear Me

Dear Kyla,
It's me, surprise!! Being 19 now, I decided I've learned a lot of life lessons to tell you about, even though you are very smart for being only ten years old.
First of all, no you are not Sporty Spice from the Spice Girls, and will never be her. Don't worry, you won't like them in two years anyways. And you will never meet or marry Justin Timberlake, Nick Carter, or Ricky Martin in the next nine years. I've already given up, it probably won't happen!
I know Chad will be going to college soon, and as much as you hate your brother, you really will miss him. Watch and take mental notes of what he does at IU and do the exact opposite. You don't want to take 6 unnecessary years to graduate like he did. Your first semester at Purdue (yes, you go to Purdue!) will be rough and mom and dad will think you are going to end up like Chad, but don't worry you will get your act together!

The next superstar of the Olympics

As a child, I was always on the go. As my mom put it, I was much more of a "challenge" than my older brother, but always had to add in the fact that I was more fun. One night when I was about four, my parents went out to dinner, deciding my brother was mature enough to babysit me for the first time. He set himself up in the living room, playing Nintendo and totally ignoring my existence for the night.
My mother made the mistake of recently enrolling me in gymnastics classes, probably hoping that it would help expell my energy. Well she was wrong. After class got done, I always wanted to continue practicing at home. I mean practice does make perfect right?! So I decided that the arm of our couch would make the perfect place to hone my balance beam skills. Mom wasn't much of a fan of this and always told me to get down because I would fall off the chair and break my head open on our brick fire place looming next to the chair.

I'm not much of a studier, but....

When I do study, all of my studying that I do is done in my dorm room, especially now that it's wayyy too freezing to go anywhere outside of Harrison. My favorite place in my dorm to study is definitely up in my loft. I turn on my IPod next to my bed and listen to quiet, relaxing music and sometimes if I study hard enough, I'll fall asleep. Power naps definitely help me stay awake to study, and my warm bed is the perfect place to take them!

Random facts about me :)

My name is Kyla and I'm from Elkhart, Indiana (about 20 minutes away from Notre Dame) so yes, I LOVE my Irish football, I don't care how terrible they are! I played soccer, softball, and volleyball in high school and love sports, but can be a bit of a girly girl at times. Much to the dismay of my soccer coach, I was always the one on the field with a big pink bow in my hair! I love my family. My parents are amazing, and even though my brother is an IU grad, he's pretty awesome too! Little kids are the best! The loves of my life are Abby (6) and Jacob (9) who I nanny for when I'm home. I love country music, puppies, ice cream and warm weather! I also love Oprah! I watch her show every day and I really think she should run for President. I strongly believe laughter is the cure for everything! I really don't want to grow up. Birthdays can stop after I turn 21, please! I'm still undecided on a major, but I'm confident I'll find the right one sooner or later!
