When we met with David on Tuesday we showed him our revised designs that we did. He really liked Brads yard sign design. As he was looking at our designs he made comments on them. He also said that we had to put paid for by the committee to elect David Woolums. We have to have this on our deliverables do to campaign laws. On Thursday when we met with him he had him choose which designs he liked best and any final revisions he would like us to do. We are planning on having the final copies to present to him on Tuesday for his approval.

For this past week we met with David to show him all of the designs we had made to that date. He really liked everything that we had done and gave us several suggestions for what to add and or subtract to make them better for the final submission. He really liked the house design with his initials that Brad made for him which we will be incorporating into all of the other designs. He would also like for us to settle on a specific slogan to put on all of the designs. We also had him sign the contract that we showed to Mark during our meeting on Wednesday.

This week was very productive for our group. On Tuesday, Brad and myself met with David to show him our designs. Also, we showed him the changes we made to the previous designs from the week before. On Wednesday, the group met up in class with Mark and we talked bout our progress so far with this service learning project. On Thursday, we met with David once again as a group. Everyone had these examples to show David and the meeting went very well. All four of us had great ideas and progress on the campaign designs. Brad designed the logo and worked on the yard sign design.

Natasha, Brad, and Robert were able to meet with David to figure out exactly what he wanted to do for the campaign. After making the proposal we were told that we needed to do a little more for him than just the fliers and postcards. For now we need to make sure David signs the contract in order to get that out of the way. Also, we need to get started on the designs in order to have something to show David when we meet with him on Tuesday. Right now we have some ideas about what David would like to have on these things.

Last Sunday, Natasha, Robert, and I met up in the Hicks Undergraduate Library to discuss and create our proposal to give to Mr. Woolums. Joe was not able to make it because he was in Tennesee. In the proposal, we outlined exactly what we would be doing for him and when we would have the components complete. Mark looked over our proposal in class on Monday and suggested that we change some things and find something else to do for Mr. Woolums in addition to the fliers and mailers. He also suggested a bunch of questions to ask Mr. Woolums the next time we met with him.

We got to work on the service leraning project by looking for a good person to work with. We originally looked into Stadium Bar and Grill but were told that the owner was extremely busy and would not be available very often for this project. Next we went to Insomnia Cookies but were told that they would have to get back to us. After trying Pita Pit we finally tried Villiage Coffee House and the owner was very willing to work with us.

Work Blog 1 - Service Learning Project

We met with David Woolums, the owner of Villiage Coffee House, on Friday to get all of his information in order and figure out exactly what we would be doing for him. He explained that he is running for county commisioner in district 2 of Tippecanoe County and needs to get some sort of campaign stuff out there. He explained that despite the fact that he is running for office in district 2, anyone in Tippecanoe County can vote for him, which is something most people don't realize. He also explained that one of his main goals is to fix the housing problems in Indiana.
