English 420, Business Writing

First of all, Michelle needs to have a good idea that she wants to be located in California which is far away from home here in Indiana. She has a lot of good experience that is career related which is much more than most of us can say coming out of college. It says that she speaks English and Spanish. I’m not sure how much Spanish she actually speaks. It does not say that she is fluent in it. She may only have basic knowledge of the language where she might be able to pick up some things in a conversation. She might not speak it fluently for an outsider to understand.

It is obvious that Michelle has plenty of experience in her field. Not only has she taken classes at an well known university, but she has put her knowledge to use through different jobs. Because of these jobs she has gained not only knowlegde, but experience.

When reviewing the two job advertisements that Michelle had selected, judging by her credentials and experience level, the position at Irwin Union Bank appears to be better suited for her at this point. She is a very qualified candidate and more than likely could perform the tasks that both companies are asking. However, she is anything but the ideal candidate for the Plantronics position.

Michelle is qualified for both of the jobs that she is applying for. It is clear through her resume that she wants to work in accounting and finance and that she has taken the appropriate steps to be eligible for a job in that field. The job of being a credit and collections analyst for Plantronics is a great opportunity for Michelle. She has the right degree that they are looking for and a lot of the right credentials to be productive at this job and an asset to the company.

Job 1: Irwin Union Bank and Trust Company

Irwin Union Bank and Trust Company:

Irwin is looking for a candidate with experience very much like Michelle's. They are looking for a team oriented person with non-managerial experience in tracking financial history and risk assessment.

After looking over the credentials that Michelle has, she seems to be decently qualified for both positions. I will say that neither seems like a 100% match since they both want a few things that she does not have. For example Irwin Union Bank and Trust desire some one who has prior commercial real estate experience, something that she does not have. She does however have previous experience with a few of the tasks that she will be doing on a day to day basis.
