Jon Drew's Reading Response 2![]() There are two jobs currently being reviewed. Both seem like good jobs to take out of college although there are very different in certain aspects. One job is in Indianapolis while the other is across the country in California, although the work is similar in both jobs and within Michelle’s field of financial education and work experience.

Tom Lernihan Reading Response 2Michelle is applying for two jobs, one with Irwin Union Bank and Trust, and the other with Plantronics. Lets first look at her qualifications and then see what job would be the best fit for her. She will be graduating in May of 2008 with a 3.4 G.P.A. and with a good amount of work experience. She has worked as a bank teller for two years and this previous summer became a credit analyst at the World Financial Group. She is proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and QuickBooks. Darling Reading Response 2![]() Our job candidate Michelle has qualifications for both jobs, though she is not fully qualified for either. She has had much experience with other banks, such as Old National, World Financial Group, and PEFCU, so she will be able to adapt to the Irwin Bank environment much more easily. She definitely has one to two years of experience with all of these past summer jobs put together. Because of these past bank jobs, she can do the requested responsibilities of preparing balance sheets, income statements and problem solving skills. She seems to fit most of the other qualifications.

Alex MacGill's Reading Responce #2![]() In my personal opinion I think that both jobs would suit her well. She is very well qualified to work at either company. Irwin Union Bank and Plantronics are both respectable companies. I don’t think that there is a clear advantage of one over the other. She has related work experience in both jobs, so I think Michelle should apply for both jobs. Assuming that she gets offers from both companies, I think Michelle’s decision is going to come down to external factors like where she wants to live.

Reading Response 2 Joe Gerace![]() Michelle seems to be highly qualified although she isn't perfect for either of the jobs listed. Irwin Bank and Trust Company wants cash flow analysis which she would have gotten from her Finance Internship for the World Financial Group. They also want someone who understands balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements which she would have gotten being a bank teller and an assistant to the Primary Loan Officer at PEFCU. However, this job also prefers someone with real estate experience and experience with Baker Hill and Jack Henry Systems, niether of which she has.

Michelle's job advertisements: Tae Young Ha![]() According to Michelle’s credentials and experiences, I could conclude that she had been a good student during her college years. Not only she had good GPA, but also she participated in many extracurricular activities as well as internships. Now it is her job to analyze job advertisements thoroughly and prepare different resumes and cover letters according to the qualifications that companies are looking for.
