English 420, Business Writing

Last week we first met with the professor to discuss the work that we had already done. After making some comments on the fliers’ alignments and other small issues, which we quickly corrected, he suggested we think of another piece of work to create for the business. His suggestion was a calendar of events that we agreed would be useful for the client.

The next day we met with the client to discuss the rough drafts of the fliers that we had created. We discussed with him the corrections that we would make to them and send to him as soon as possible. For the most part he enjoyed the work we had done and was looking forward to using our fliers instead of his own cluttered ones. He loved our more open design and said that he had already started using some of them to promote his shirt sales for Grand Prix week.

We then brought up the idea of an events calendar to help him know what activities to promote and how early to start promoting t-shirt sales for them. He liked that idea and agreed that that would be beneficial for his business, because he had no idea how big some of these events were and was missing big opportunities by not being informed.

This week we will be working on this calendar and preparing for the final presentation to the class of our work.
