This week we met with both Mark and our Boiler Market contact Ben. We showed Mark our progress and a rough draft of the brochure we had been working on. We also talked about making a flyer and possibly tabletop advertisements for specials to replace the instruction manual we had originally planned on making (this is not needed because Copy Mat creates and maintains the document files for Boiler Market).
Suggestions we received from our contact Ben (the owner also gave some input) included removing the Purdue emblem from the brochure (because Boiler Market is not necessarily affiliated with Purdue) and replacing the resulting white space with another graphic. We agreed to make the changes, and Matt said he would drop off a printed copy of the most recent version the nest day (Friday, May11th) for them to proofread and give their final approval. Evan agreed to make the changes and send them to Matt because he has a color printer. Our group has been rushing to finish up the brochure early because our contact will be going on vacation the week the project deliverables are due. We wanted everything to be taken care of before he left (May 19th – 26th).
Matt said he would also began drafting a flyer for Jazz night with the information that we were provided for the next band coming this month. He also said he would experiment with the tabletop advertisements. Although Boiler Market already has tabletop signs, we will be making them anyway to be sure we have a larger enough workload for this project. He will be using either Publisher or In Design depending on which works better for our needs. We will look over his rough drafts in class on Wednesday and discuss future plans/revisions at that time.
