This week we met our contact Ben at Boiler Market to discuss our progress. Evan made a sample draft of the brochure that we had been planning for us to show Ben. We chose to get weekly updates on this project so our group could get constructive feedback about what Ben liked and what he would liked to be changed. That way, at the end of the year we could give the client exactly what they want. Evan did such an awesome job that he already really liked it. We made notes on things to add and things to change, but we were definitely on the right track to creating what Ben was envisioning. Evan did the brochure using Microsoft Publisher. The brochure was in tri-fold format and included pictures, text, and narratives about the Boiler Market.
We also took this time to ask Ben some questions. We inquired to the technological capabilities they had available to them. Ben informed us that they had all their materials made for them at Copymat. This let us know that making an update manual was unnecessary, and it would be a better use of both our time and resources if we focused our efforts elsewhere. We talked about making flyers or tabletop advertisements for upcoming events as a possibility. Ben said he would check his calendar for any big events in the near future and let us know at our next meeting this week.
Evan and Matt said they would look over the brochure, and Evan will make the changes that we noted. Ben will also be e-mailing Evan the pictures he has on file so we can use those in the brochure. We all looked at them in the office together and there were some really good pictures of the food and drinks. Our group may be taking our own pictures of the interior of the restaurant though, because there did not seem to be as many of those on file.
We agreed to meet next week (probably Thursday) to show Ben our next draft of the brochure, and to see if there is anything else we can do. We had Ben read and sign the contract this week as well. Evan and Matt said they will both look over the brochure for next week, and I agreed to write the blog.
