English 420, Business Writing

This week the Service Learning Project was introduced. After discussing our options, my group decided to try to work with O'Bryan's Nine Irish Brothers Pub. Jake and I went to the pub after class one day this week and talked with the general manager about our proposal. We explained why we were there and what we hoped we could help him with. Immediately, he suggested a project that he was been wanting to get around to, but just doesn't have the time. He explained to us that he has been wanting to rewrite the company's current orientation manuals into several more specific documents that are position-specific.

To get this done, the general manager, Matt, told us that we will need to go over the current manuals and interview current employees to gather information. After this is done, we will write new manuals.

Before we can begin work on this project, we will need to have another meeting with Matt to discuss specific plans for the manuals and exactly what we will need to do. We will also need to establish target deadlines. We have a meeting with Matt at 3pm on Monday to go over these things and sign the contract.
