Boiler Market Memo![]() MEMORANDUM To: Mark Hannah Our foremost interest for our Service Learning Project is with the restaurant Boiler Market located a short distance from campus at 320 West State Street in West Lafayette. They offer casual dining, alcoholic beverages, and live music. Their extensive menu includes pasta dishes, pizza, and an array of wraps. Boiler Market offers a family friendly atmosphere, carry out dining, and featuring an area for patrons of legal drinking age separate from the general dining area. During the summer, guests can dine on their outdoor patio. Our ideas included creating informational brochures to promote the live musical performances that take place on a semi-regular basis. The brochure will serve as a calendar identifying the selected dates of the performances and the featured performers. The brochure will advertise both Boiler Market as well as the musical talent by providing short biographies and information about the bands. Some of the performances are charity events with a portion of the proceeds benefiting different philanthropies. The brochure will be sure to highlight such philanthropic events and identify the specific charities gaining from the performances. Tabitha has already taken the initiative to contact a representative of Boiler Market and provided a basic outline of their needs. They agreed that a brochure will help stimulate both sales and traffic from students and members of the community. As of now, their primary method of advertisement is word of mouth. A brochure will help to further their name in the community. Our group as a whole will be contacting Boiler Market next week to discuss specific details such as information, research, and deadlines and to sign the contract. To this meeting we will bring tentative ideas including sketches for possible layouts and designs.
