WorkBlog 3/17/08![]() Before spring break our group worked hard to put together a rough draft. We first made an outline so that we could divide out work between all four of us. I was responsible for the Management Restructuring portion of the paper. I was able to find a great source for this paper from Ruth Neil a graduate student at Iowa State University. He detailed the differences in organizational structure in terms of their high or low centralization, complexity, and formalization. He also gave different pros and cons in terms of when to use different types of organizational structures. This really helped me make my portion of the rough draft because I was able to understand how to clearly make it objective. Steve was able to collaborate all of our portions together smoothly because we already had the paper organized through a rough outline. My portion of the outline did not actually match what I wrote for the rough draft, because I realized that I was not being objective when I came to my options that I was giving Knight Corporation. Overall the rough draft was a success and we all were able to work as a team to complete it. Now this week we are going to be getting our rough drafts back from Mr. Hannah and then we will be able to further on with this process. We need to be sure that every portion of our whitepaper is as objective as we possibly can be, and also making sure we show the pros and cons of each solution that we will be proposing. We still need to make some graphs of the organizational structures that we will be proposing, and any other graphical sheets that we need to create. This week will be a very productive week for our team!
