English 420, Business Writing

The week before Spring Break our group met and worked on the paper. We divided the work up so that each person had something different to research and write about. Catherine worked on the advertising website option and Josh worked on creating the website in-house option. I worked on the outsourcing option. I included things like cost, pros and cons to the option. I also have the reader some information about how to choose a company that did that kind of work (what to look for basically). I also included an image that gave the reader an example of one option they had for picking a company to create and run the website for them.

When our group met, we put our parts into the format that we chose and added sentences to help the paper flow. We decided to have a two column format because that is what most other sales white papers had. We also decided to add in a logo for the Knight Corporation to make ours look more professional. We finished the paper on Thursday and then Catherine turned it in on Friday.

This week we are going to work on our presentation and we will also be editing the paper. I think mostly we have to do fine-tuning type work on the paper. We will have to work on the flow of the paper and change some of the language to make it more cohesive and informational (less persuasive). Also, we might have to work on the Works Cited page a little. For our presentation, we have not yet decided which program we are going to use to present the information, so we will have to work on that. Also, we will need to decide who is going to present which information and we will have to meet to practice our presentation.
