Work blog #4

This week we did our presentation on Dreamweaver which I think went successfully. After the presentation, the rest of the week (until Wednesday when we turned in the draft of our white paper) was spent working on and combining the elements of our white paper. I tried to make the changes that were suggested to make the writing sound more in terms of Knight Corporation. I also added information on servers and server space needed to different calibers of websites. The IBM website had a survey that made a recommendation as to which server would be the best for a company’s use. I took this survey for Knight Corporation and supplied the results. I also experimented with a basic design for the white paper pages and section headings. The group did not enthusiastically accept the design but no further work was done in that respect.

On Wednesday in class we combined Tabby’s section on advertising and marketing, Evan’s section on hiring a third party, and my two sections on web design and payment systems. We decided the sections would be ordered as follows: hiring a third party, web design, payment systems, marketing and advertising. We also decided that the paper would be written in the third person simply because we thought both second and third were equally good choices but Evan and Tabby wrote their sections in third. After combining the sections we determined that we needed an introduction but that we would write that after receiving the feedback from the draft. Finally, we crafted a brief cover page for the paper.

Week 4 Response

Your design wasn't bad! I think it just needed some more punch. I was thinking paragraph and subheadings in a complimentary, but not matching, font and color scheme. This would add visual interest as well as guide the reader through the paper. I also found some good images on Google that we could add to the paper.
