Work Blog Wek Four

Greetings Colleges,

This week for my work blog I am actually going to account what I have been doing with Windows Movie Player for our presentation. I used the program all the time in High School in one of my classes. It was a television production for the students. It aired every Friday. Most of the time students were expected to produce a clip every two weeks, I was assigned the "Weekly Update" segment of the program and they had decided that this particular part required regularity. Essentially meaning I was responsible for putting a show together by my self every week. I used the program for a minimum of three hours a week and the program actually has improved in user friendliness since then, so I see no problems. There are a couple of issues however. We need to know exactly how was want to utilize the program in our presentation. If it were to be just a segment, even a considerable chunk, than that would be one thing. However, if it is something that we are going to use as a "power-point" style metronome for us to use, that than will be another thing. I know there is a more efficient way we can utilize this very useful technology.

In light of the last comment, I do have an idea. It is nothing serious and I have no idea how you guys would feel about it, but I thought I would run it by you. Since we are a consulting company, even though we aren't the "marketing" department per se, who's to say we couldn't create a commercial of sorts for them. This actually wouldn't be to hard if we could get some essential footage.

My initial ideas include some sort of footage of a an employee or a group of employees working in a large factory doing some sort of mundane repetitive activity. Then some footage of a woman holding her wrists and looking like she is obviously in pain. Then maybe get some footage of a law environment where lawyers are walking around, then I could edit in some cash signs pilling up. This could be played right at the beginning of the presentation and then we could turn off the projector all together. I feel that all of us are intelligent enough to make it through a presentation without needing a slide to remind us what to say. Notecards would work great. Akshay you could pass out the chart that is attached in the appendix of white paper rough draft, and actually get the audience involved in performing some of these activities.

Everyone could talk about there their own particular parts that they contributed to the paper and that should actually put together a pretty good presentation. We must first relate this problem however to them. If we start out with stuff just about carpal tunnel syndrome, most of them will get bored half way through the presentation, whether you want to admit it or not. However, if we immediately relate it to them and most important, their pocket books, then we will have a better chance of them actually paying attention to our proposal for them. Let me know what you think and I hope everyone has a great Spring Break!

Sincerely Yours,

Brad Baker

Dear Brad,

I am really glad to hear that you have extensive experience with movie maker. This will make the process much easier seeing as we won't have to first learn how to use it before implementing it in our presentation. Hopefully today we can go over the presentation more and get a better idea of how we will present everything and if we will do a commercial. I hope we can get a lot accomplished in these next few days, even with the hectic schedule I'm sure we all have.

Regards,
Rich Ombrembowski

Hey Brad, I'm thoroughly

Hey Brad,

I'm thoroughly grateful that you are so well versed with movie-maker. To address the problem of the power-point section, we could consider using alternate resources in addition to movie-maker, albeit switching to the mac later on in our presentation and using iMovie HD to use its version of power-point. We can work out all these logistics when we meet tomorrow. I have scheduled our meeting with Mr. Hannah to go over our rough draft on Friday at 4.30 pm in class. Both Mr. Hannah and I are aware that you will be unable to make it to this meeting, and Mr. Hannah said that it would be fine.

Regards,

Akshay
