Dear Tabby:

I am currently a senior at Purdue University majoring in Financial Counseling and Planning. I am reaching you because I have interest in the Sales team for this class. I feel I would benefit this group more so than any other because of my course background, some sales experience, and communication skills.

While attending Purdue University, I have taken great courses that will help me with this position. Some relevant courses that might be of your interest were: Marriage and Family Relationships, Customer Relations Management, Interpersonal Communication, Risk Management, Selling and Sales, etc. These courses have directly improved my skills and knowledge through taking leadership in group projects, maintaining skills building journals, being able to speak with people at all levels, and gave me knowledge from which I can build upon. I especially had a great experience with a selling and sales project which we were required to select a product or service to sell to a Professional in that field of business. It gave me a good overview of the process it takes to be an effective sales representative. I also kept a skills building journal in my Interpersonal Communication course that really helped me look at myself on what I could improve on and take action to actually improve the characteristic I chose. Recently I took charge of a fundraiser “Relay for Life” for our club and had a great time doing so. I have had jobs in the past while taking classes which shows that I am a hardworking individual. I have experience with sales and customer service which I believe is the number one detail that keeps customers.

I know I can be a great contributor to the sales group through my sales experience through past employment, courses taken, and communication skills. I appreciate you looking at my letter for consideration in the group and I hope to contribute to the group very soon.
