Final White Paper Workblog Entry Josh Toon

jtoon's picture

This week, our group worked very hard on our white paper. At the start of this week, we meet in Grisom to work on getting everything organized. During this meeting, we were able to come up with our introduction as well as make changes to stuff we had previously written. The changes we made were to give more support to the ideas that we had presented throughout our draft. For example, I wrote about using cars.com. In the rough draft, I mentioned cars.com and posted a screenshot of their website. So, on Monday, I wrote supporting statements as to why cars.com was so important.

Week 3 Blog...Why to start -up online services

jtoon's picture

This week, our group has come a long way. At the start of this week, we did our technology projects. Although ours was a very dry topic, I think the information presented in it was beneficial to the class. Aside from the technology project, our group finally decided on what three things to present in our white paper. First, we thought that it would be best to show Knight Corporation what they could do with a fully functional online sales website. The second thing that we thought about doing was showing Knight what they could do with a website that was solely dedicated to advertising.

Workblog entry #2 for sales team by Josh Toon

jtoon's picture

This week, I have been trying to reflect on what my group should do in reference to our white paper. When we first started the project, I was under the impression that our groups job was to ultimately make and maintain a website so that we could start a branch of online sales for the Knight Corporation. After our group meeting on Friday, a lot of good points were brought up about starting this branch of the company. It seems that with this project, we have the choice to decide weather or not we think it is a good idea to start-up this branch.

Some Stuff to think about, entry #1 Josh Toon

jtoon's picture

Ok guys, in class on Friday, we talked about researching marketing strategies. Before we get real involved in which channels to plug our product through, we should ask ourselves a few questions. First, what is our target market?

josh Toon's findings

Although I did not get very far, I think I have found something that can help our group in the weeks ahead. By going to the database listings on the Purdue library site, I found a category called "Business and Industry" if you go on that site, it allows you to look up articles about sales, and what industry of sales that you want. ....More to come

Josh Toons reading response 3 for resumes

jtoon's picture

For this reading response, I chose resumes two and four. These resumes had a lot of good information, but had some noticeable errors as well. From what we have learned in class, a resume should have a similar formatting throughout the entirety of the resume, make good use of white space, and should set you apart from others. When reviewing these resumes, these key points were not followed completely.
