We finished our rough drafts last week and are going to show them to Shannon tomorrow at 2pm. In this meeting, we hope to get her opinion on what we need to correct and what she likes and dislikes about the design. After this meeting, Andy will have the title that Shannon would like for the Facebook group. He will then be able to put together the group. Brittany, Jamie, and I also will need to revise the rough drafts to fit the YWCA's needs. I think overall Shannon will be happy with our work.

This week, we started working on our rough drafts. I created the inside of the brochure that we are making, and Jamie created the front side. The brochure incorporates all the elements that we discussed with Shannon White. It tells what the after school program is, why you should volunteer with the YWCA, and finally it has a part that you can tear out and send in to the YWCA.

This week, we finally were able to meet and talk with Shannon White, the Executive Director at the YWCA. Our original proposal included making flyers and promoting the Y-Dance recital in May. However, since it is coming up so soon, she had already had people working on everything for that. Then, she brought up more ideas. She really wanted us to brainstorm on ways to get people involved with the YWCA, especially volunteers that have special hobbies that could teach children to play the piano, dance, etc.

Final Work Blog

This past week was hectic trying to get our presentation together, our final draft, making a proposal for the service learning project and trying to get in contact with the executive director of the YWCA. On Monday, we presented our solutions to the class and the "Board of Directors." They asked many good questions which we tried to incorporate as much as possible into our final draft.

This is very late, but I just noticed we had a research/work blog due this week. I thought that Mark said during our meeting last Wednesday that we had no blogs due. I noticed some people had written some, so I checked it and turns out we did.

Before spring break, our team worked on incorporating all of our individual parts into the whole white paper. On Wednesday, we met and designed the paper and put in tables and charts. Friday, Jamie and I turned in our rough draft in class. Since this week has been spring break, we have not worked on anything. However, our final presentation is on Wednesday so it will be necessary to get together and work on that in the next two days. I feel like we have a lot of work to complete in the next couple of days. We will probably talk about a time to meet and finish our project in class tomorrow.

This week, our team started drafting our white paper. We finally settled on three proposals to show the Board of Directors. My job this week was to write one of the solutions for our paper. Since I already had most of our sources and enough information about HMO's, I did not need to research much more. The only thing I really wanted to find this week was information about HMO opt-in and open enrollment periods. I found it difficult to find information I needed, but eventually found a little about it at ahip.org.

Helpful link

Hey everyone,
I have attached the Indiana Department of Insurance website link. I think this will be helpful, especially because we haven't really been concerned with preexisting conditions.

My goal this week was to look into Humana’s insurance plans, such as HMO, PPO, and a flexible spending account or other consumer-driven plans. We are assuming that Knight Corporation already has Humana’s HMO and they are paying 100%. Also, we are assuming that they pay $3000-4000 per single person and $6000-7000 per family of 4.

This week, my research goal was to find information about HMOs, PPOs and consumer-directed insurance plans. In responding to these goals, I first thought about the company’s size of 200 employees and where it’s located. New Albany is near the Ohio River, which is very polluted and has a reputation of being high in carcinogens. I noticed that the closest bigger city was Louisville, KY.
