English 420, Business Writing

We got the contract signed on Monday we are right on schedule and have started creating our various handouts for Underground Printing. So far we have created two different handouts for Grand Prix week. We meet last Friday and again today, Monday, to finish the first two handouts and have planned a meeting for this Wednesday. We are waiting to get feedback from the client on the handouts. We are also going start creating some more generic flyers this week that can be used any time of the year. This will happen after we get feedback on the first two.

Our technology presentation went very well last Monday despite not having talked about it in a week since we were originally planning on giving it the Tuesday before. I think we took our time to show people a little more of the program and showed them how they could get to an end product effectively. Our presentation took us about fifteen minutes to do which was right on track with our goal. We were also able to answer the questions the class posed to us very well on Windows MovieMaker. I fell that we really knew our stuff on that topic.

We prepared for our technology presentation at the beginning of the week. We practiced it in the classroom we usually have class in, so we would prepared to work with the technology that is in the classroom. I am a little worried about the quality of our presentation suffering since we are now going many days after we practiced and some people might have forgotten what they were going to do.

We meet a few times last week to work on this project. The first time we meet we started on making our PowerPoint for the technology presentation and I learned how to use Windows Movie Maker, so we could give a live demo of it in class. I think a demo will be a lot more effective than using screen shots of the program in PowerPoint. I am not really worried about the technology presentation.

The technology that we are going to give a demonstration on to the class is iMovie or Movie Maker. I think we will also end up recommending it as a technology that Knight Corporation can use. Making videos can be very useful in several areas of the company. They can make videos to show off the products, train employees, and make videos that have to do with the community and disabilities. I think Knight Corporation could get a lot of use out of a movie program.

I selected resume two and four to evaluate the design and content. The first thing I did was print them out to see what they looked like on paper. Once printed some problems became much more apparent to me.
