English 420, Business Writing

For the presentation, we are going to be addressing what we did for Henni for our Service Learning Project. We are planning on talking about our facebook ad that we set up, our flyer, our business card, and our buy 12 get one free card. We are also planning on talking about the difficulties that we have had with Henni and her inability to tell us what she wants. It was a learning experience though because in life, especially business you are going to be put in front of difficult client and you have to learn to adapt.

This week we have laid out our plans. We are producing a advertising pack to give to Henni. In our pack we will offering a advertising layout that she can use for a newspaper ad in the future. We are going to be focusing the ad on her skill level over the other chains. We will also be producing a better business card for her. Her current card is bland and doesn't have any map to show where her shop is located. We will be fixing these problems that we noticed and present her with our new plan. It will be up to her to decide if she chooses to use our layouts.

This week for our service learning project we have constructed out contract and presented it to Henni. We offered her a few services that we could perform for her. These services include an advertisement on facebook, advertising for locals over the summertime, as well as a plan of advertising for next August. We will be focusing on advertising to freshman, in an effort to draw new clients. In all of these advertising plans a few of the goals that Henni wanted us to emphasize is her skill level over the competing hair shops, as well as her walk in special between the hours of noon and 2pm.

This week for our service learning project we have narrowed our selections down to two companies, Cafe Royale, and Henni Haircutters. We first spoke to a few ladies at Cafe Royale and asked them if we could help them with their advertising for finals week, in regards to their extended hours. However they were polite but basically told us that they did not need any help. We then went to Henni Haircutters and met with the owner. She has had previous 420 groups help her before so she was familiar with the process.

The week before spring break we broke our group up into two different teams. One team covering Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and the other covering the lack of management. As apart of the team covering the section on Carpal Tunnel, we further broke our section into two different aspects, prevention and treatment. We explained in detail two different methods that knight corporation could use to help prevent future cases of CTS, as well as several different treatment options for those employees who currently suffer from Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Hey group this week I have been working on research of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. I will be doing the section on the history, and basic background of the CTS. I will then relate the facts of Carpal Tunnel to Knight Corporation. Once they have had an understanding with what they are dealing with I will then give them the different ideas and solutions for preventing Carpal Tunnel in the future. I will give the pros and cons of each idea. I have broken down my section into these different topics. i.
Prevention
• Rotating workers around different stations

For this week our group broke down how we are going to approach our white paper. We categorized it into two sections, poor management and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. We then divided it further into two sections of the poor management and two different ways to solve the issue. We also divided the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome into two categories, how to prevent future occurrences, and how to treat the employees that have Carpal Tunnel already. As for this weekend I did some research into Photoshop, the different aspects and what we need to do to present it.

Hey Guys, For this week I looked up the symptoms of Carpal Tunnel and what some of the causes are. I discovered that some of the symptoms such as tingling, burning, and a feeling of swelling in the thumb, index, middle fingers. This usually begins to occur in the middle of the night. Some people find that they need to wake up and shake their hands, and feel a lack of strength in their hands. Although there is some evidence and knowledge that repetitive motion causes Carpal Tunnel, the government website that I looked at claimed that this may just be a urban myth.
