jgerace's blogGerace - Work Blog 3![]() For this past week we met with David to show him all of the designs we had made to that date. He really liked everything that we had done and gave us several suggestions for what to add and or subtract to make them better for the final submission. He really liked the house design with his initials that Brad made for him which we will be incorporating into all of the other designs. He would also like for us to settle on a specific slogan to put on all of the designs. We also had him sign the contract that we showed to Mark during our meeting on Wednesday.

Gerace - Work Blog 2![]() Natasha, Brad, and Robert were able to meet with David to figure out exactly what he wanted to do for the campaign. After making the proposal we were told that we needed to do a little more for him than just the fliers and postcards. For now we need to make sure David signs the contract in order to get that out of the way. Also, we need to get started on the designs in order to have something to show David when we meet with him on Tuesday. Right now we have some ideas about what David would like to have on these things.

Gerace - Work Blog 1![]() We got to work on the service leraning project by looking for a good person to work with. We originally looked into Stadium Bar and Grill but were told that the owner was extremely busy and would not be available very often for this project. Next we went to Insomnia Cookies but were told that they would have to get back to us. After trying Pita Pit we finally tried Villiage Coffee House and the owner was very willing to work with us.

Work Blog 1 - Service Learning Project![]() We met with David Woolums, the owner of Villiage Coffee House, on Friday to get all of his information in order and figure out exactly what we would be doing for him. He explained that he is running for county commisioner in district 2 of Tippecanoe County and needs to get some sort of campaign stuff out there. He explained that despite the fact that he is running for office in district 2, anyone in Tippecanoe County can vote for him, which is something most people don't realize. He also explained that one of his main goals is to fix the housing problems in Indiana.

Gerace - Week 4 Work Blog![]() I was pretty happy with our technology presentation on GarageBand. During the explanation of parts and examples of what you can do in the program most of the class seemed to be fairly interested. On Wednesday we also worked on the rest of our White Paper rough draft. All of us had written our parts out so this meeting was mostly just to throw everything together and come up with a format for the entire thing. We also decided to move some things around from our original outline.

Gerace - Week 3 Work Blog![]() We got together on Tuesday last week to work on the white paper. We ended up splitting the white paper up so that each person had about a quarter of the project to write about. We also met Thursday to talk about how everything was going to fit together as far as transitions. Overall, we are splitting up the paper into how much change needs to be done to implement a certain plan. Then each plan will be split into benefits or pros/cons, cost, and descriptions of the parts that need to be put into place.

Gerace - Work Blog 2![]() We met on Saturday to talk about the project and work on the technology presentation. We got most of the presentation for GarageBand figured out we just have some minor things left to do. For the white paper we decided we were going to make our three solutions based on how much the company would have to go through to make the change. So there will be a basic solution which won't take much to implement and then a step up for each of the next two solutions. This will hopefully make it fairly easy to have all of the information in each step.

Week 1 Work Entry![]() For our group, we were given GarageBand to learn and teach to the class. We decided this would be good for the technology section of Knight Co. because they are looking for different ways to communicate easily throughout their company. With this package, management will be able to make podcasts to easily communicate with lower levels of the company. These people will be able to listen to this without much prior knowledge of the software and so change shouldn't be to big of a problem.

Information from library database![]() I found this article by searching for communication technology in business on the library's main page. I then chose Research Library (ProQuest) and clicked on the third article listed called " Interactive communication technologies in business organizations." It explains different technologies used in businesses today. It also explains some problems that come about when implementing new communication technologies which could be very useful information.
