English 420, Business Writing

When we met with David on Tuesday we showed him our revised designs that we did. He really liked Brads yard sign design. As he was looking at our designs he made comments on them. He also said that we had to put paid for by the committee to elect David Woolums. We have to have this on our deliverables do to campaign laws. On Thursday when we met with him he had him choose which designs he liked best and any final revisions he would like us to do. We are planning on having the final copies to present to him on Tuesday for his approval.

The Wednesday before spring break we met and brought all of our parts together and went through to make sure formatting was the same for all parts then we combined them all into our rough draft. Our rough draft was over the word limit so we will need to go through and see what parts can be rewritten or taken out to put us in the word limit for the paper. Also, we to go through and put some pictures into the paper so Knight Corporation can have a visual to what we are talking about in our white paper.

At our group meeting we decided to break up the paper into parts. I have started doing research and taking notes on what I have found for my part of the paper and should be able to type out my part fairly quickly. I have found a program by IBM that allows people to collaborate with each other. Workers can post work, write blogs, and even IM each other.It is also customizable so the company can change it to meet it's current needs.

I missed our meetings due to conflicts with work, but I have started looking at ideas for the handout over GarageBand. I will have a rough draft ready by class tomorrow. Unfortunately, I will have to miss class tomorrow because I will be in Indianapolis representing my major at a conference at the state house all afternoon. I like the idea of offering the company three solutions I increasing the degree of implementation required. This will allow the company to have a idea of everything they will get in each package and determine what will be the best choice for the company.

Really excited about learning GarageBand and seeing what it can offer a company by using it. I have never really done much work on a MAC till this class. I wonder how being a MAC only software will affect a company in using it?

A found an interesting article on how to implement an wireless network with out compromising security. This is a big issue for companies how to keep the network secure. The keyword I use was implementing wireless.

Using linux over windows I found an article dealing with the changes a linux deskop to the market. Linux support costs are cheaper than that of windows and total cost of ownership is a big concern of companies.

Using the keyword sever performance I selected an article on multi cores in servers affect the performance.
