This reading was very useful because it got me thinking about our final research paper. I never would have thought about using these techniques in
order to find information about a topic. I found it the section about enerating keywords interesting because it is something that I would never
think to do. Defining key terms is really a good way to get you thinking about your topic and it also allows you to be knowledgable about your topic. I thought it was funny when I read the section about encyclopedias and the reading mentioned that Wikipedia is an excellent place to launch your reasearch because most teachers look down on Wikipedia. I found the section about keeping a research journal very helpful because I know that I often lose track of what research I have done in the past and where I have found things. I think that keeping notecards that have statistics on them or things you need to cite, with the source information on the back is extremely useful. I often will find important information for my research, but will forget what the website is called or forget what page it is on in a book. I thinking recording your work and information is a successful way to keep track of everything. Overall, I found that this reading was very helpful for me to get thinking about my research paper. It also had one more perk...it was short!!
