I found this reading to be extremely useful, especially because we are working on a paper this week. It was short, easy to read, and straight to the point. The introduction was useful because it pointed out the actual differences between revising, editing, and proofreading. Like many others, I always used these terms interchangeably because I figured they all meant the same thing. I never realized that editing usually occurs when a work has already undergone deep revisions. I also found it interesting that when writing a paper you should step into the reader's experience so that you can ask yourself how your draft would be read. I found that the checklist about audience, purpose, and kairos was useful when working with my presidential candidate paper. Overall, I thought that this reading was helpful and easy to gain useful information from. I also think that it was appropriate to read this chapter at this time in the course because we are starting to write our bigger papers.
