ENGL 420: Business Writing

This week went really well with our group project. We were able to finish the rough draft of our white paper and complete the majority of our research and writing portion. We were supposed to meet as a group on Thursday in the computer lab to work on our formatting and put together our paper but I was not feeling well so I could not attend. The rest of the group still got together though and was understanding of my situation. Since I was not able to help out on the formatting, I suggested that they e-mail me the file they worked on and I would put my part in and edit it some more.

This week our group's goal was to get the rough draft ready to be turned in by Friday morning. This meant that every individual had to do their own work. We brough everything together Thursday afternoon in the Matthews computer lab for finishing. When I got to the lab, Eric and Lauren were already working on formatting the paper. I was extremely impressed when I saw the work Eric had done with the multimedia aspect of the paper. He definitely went above and beyond everyone's expectations for the week, so kudos to him.

This week we had a lot more individual work to do than group work. Since we had everything broken up and everyone knew their part and when it was due, we were able to work on our own then bring it all together. On Thursday February 28, 2008, we met in the iTap computer lab in Matthews around 4:30pm to combine all of our individual parts. Eric was there before I was, and was already working on the format of our white paper. He had it looking pretty good when I showed up, and he seems to be able to format quicker than I think I could.

My team and I are current in the process of pulling our rough draft together. We have yet to make any decisions on the layout of the paper, but after the resent class for on the applications I don't believe we will have much trouble. So far all members of my group including myself have completed the primary research and we are currently in the process of bringing it all together. We have planned a group meeting for Thursday in order to finalize the rough draft to be turned in on Friday.
