ENGL 420: Business Writing

This week we finally completed the rough draft of our white paper. The only time we could meet was Thursday at 5:30, so we knew there was a lot of work to be done. It only took a few hours, but we finished most of the draft, with the exception of some formatting and styling. After the meeting, I went ahead and did my assignment for the week, which was to add some detail and formats to the rough draft. I spent some time adding in different colors and backgrounds to make the white paper look better and stand out.

This week we finished the rough draft for our project. The rough draft went a little smoother than I thought that it would. This probably is because we spent a lot of time on making our outline as detailed as possible. This ended up paying off for us because we were able to take almost everything off the outline and just plug it into the paper.

The design of the paper was probably the biggest challenge we faced. We took a little while to come up with a title that we thought would fit the paper best.

We finished our rough draft for the white paper. Last week when we met and did our detailed outline we practically wrote the paper in sentence fragments. Because we did such a detailed outline we could concentrate more or design ideas because we didn't have to look up information, that was done already. I have been most active in solution 2 of our white paper, unionizing Wal-Mart employees. Everyone has taken a role on the team and we have worked well together. When we were typing the paper we would reword each others thoughts to make the sentence flow.
