Reading Response 9

Evaluations

There was no particular reading we had to do this week, but we did do a lot of reading during the review process in class. By seeing how other groups approached the projects, I was able to get some ideas that I could apply to my group's paper. I also noticed some mistakes in the other group's papers. Some of those mistakes I aslo saw that my group made. This really helped me see the flaws of my own paper and helped me improve it. One of the most important things I learned was the importance of proof reading your work and double checking the document before you hand it in.

NO readings ...but evaluations

There was no specific reading but there was wonderful evaluations that we had to do. The biggest part I enjoy about evaluations is the fact that all the groups get to take tips from others on what mistakes not to make or not to make again. Also, it allows you to think of more elements of the white paper that may our group was missing and other groups had and the biggest reason this is important is while we are critiquing and giving feedback for others to make their white paper better and we are constantly making our own better through the feedback of others.

Reading Response 9

Because there were no real specified readings this week, I instead will discuss the benefit of the peer evaluations we completed.

Editting the White Papers of other groups within the class helped us to see different ideas for the paper that we might not have seen ourselves. This could be in regards to organizing content with headings and subtitles, the format and design, or even the color schemes used to emphasize the subject of the paper.

DARE White Paper

This week I spent the majority of my time reading through the DARE white paper. This was a very nice white paper in my opinion. The creative aspect of the paper was very nice. It had a great color scheme and some good pictures to go with the text. The paper itself was also very good. I don't know how much I agree with the solutions they were trying to implement, especially the one about trying to create the same environment in every classroom. I think that every environment is different, and that officers would have to go about teaching DARE in different ways under different circumstances.

Group Evaluations

Like everyone else has mentioned, there was not too much reading to be completed this week other than the peer reviews and the editing of our own project documents. The peer reviews consumed most of the time and effort of the two reading duties. The peer reviews can be split in to two categories, reading other white papers and reading what others have stated about my groups paper. Both of these aspects of the peer review were beneficial and nerve racking. When I read other groups white papers, I was determined to help them by noting what I believed to be hard to understand or unnecessary.

Reading Response(Week 9): Peer Reviews

This week was all about reviewing and finishing our white papers, so there was really no specific reading assignment. We were required though to read over some of the other group’s white papers, filling out a Peer Review sheet for each paper. This was a very good exercise for all of us to partake in. In breaking down other group’s white papers question by question from the Peer Review sheet it makes you think about your own paper. Each time we would be presented with a question to analyze from there paper, I would try to think about how we could answer this question for our own paper.

Reading Response Week 9

There wasn't much reading to do this week, we mostly did peer reviews for our white paper project. I thought the peer review process was extremely helpful. It was good to see how other people interpreted the same white paper and what changes we should make. I did think that the review sheet was a bit long and next time I think I will focus on the actual white paper when making changes instead of trying to finish the peer review sheet.

The others...

Well, didn't do much reading this week due to lack of motivation. Peer reviews was about all I accomplished. Looking at the white papers of other groups, I noticed things that I liked and things that I really didn't like. I kind of felt that suggestions from last Friday weren't even taken into consideration by the time I was rereading them on Wed. Well, since I didn't do much reading, I'm just not going to report much this week.

Peace out,
ZD

Reading Response 9

This week, there were really no reading assignments. The only actual reading assignment was the peer review which we were assigned to fill out in class. However, I do feel that the peer review was more helpful in examining your own paper rather than other groups. In all reality, it is more likely that I filled out the peer review and the other group paid absolutely no attention to whatever I had to say. However, after reading the questions required for the peer review, I wass required to look at my own white paper.

Reading Response 9

This week we did not have any assigned readings, but we did do a lot of peer reviewing that turned out to be quite beneficial. I think that the peer review process is a great idea that gives everyone insightful feedback and leads to well-written papers. From the peer review process every group is able to gain a lot of knowledge. They are able to look at examples of papers that their classmates are doing and maybe use some of the ideas in their own paper.
