Group 11 Blog Week 15 - Last Week!

This week was the final week of our client based service learning project. We were glad to get the final documents turned in and the presentation taken care of, because it is one step closer to the end of the semester!

Team 10: Week 15: Project Log

This week we were able to present to the class and to the client both on Wednesday. This was very beneficial because we were very polished for our client presentation. I think think the class liked our presentation as well as our project. I found it very interesting how each of us did different projects. We were very excited to get a 50/50 on our presentation and I feel like it was well deserved. We really did work hard on this project so I'm glad we did well. Our presentation with Mandy went very well. It was almost the exact same presentation.

Group 13, Week 13 Project Log

So far everything has been coming along great. We were actually very surprised at how serious the Purdue Innovations Club was about helping us help them. Before we even began talking about deliverables, they got together as a club and decided what would be best for us to do. They established the expectation that we would focus our efforts on creating marketing deliverables that they could use next semester to boost enrollment.

So far we’ve managed to progress along nicely for this project. We’ve made up our mind on which organization we want to contact which is Purdue Innovations. John contacted them on Wednesday and so far they seem very excited to work with us. All our meetings were conducted in class this week, but due to the different schedules of everyone some things like the Gant chart and the proposal draft have to be done outside of class.

This Wednesday we met with our client for the third project. Janet Shepherd is the new D.A.R.E. officer for West Lafayette and was very enthusiastic to work with us. She was also excited about the white paper we had created regarding D.A.R.E. Together it was decided that we will create four tri-fold brochures to be used to assist parents in speaking with their children about tobacco, drug and alcohol use. The first will include information about the D.A.R.E. program and how to contact the D.A.R.E. officer with questions regarding the program.

Project 3 Blog: Team #9

This week, we created our basic proposal and got our first and second ideas approved. Our first idea was to continue working with D.A.R.E. and apply much of our research from the White Paper project into this project. We have contacted the new D.A.R.E. officer of West Lafayette and are currently trying to set up a meeting with her to discuss our goals, our proposal, and what we can do to help D.A.R.E. in the community. We have met as a group once this week in order to discuss our 3 proposals for our informal proposal that we turned in on Wed.
