This week we only had 2 reading responses; a document on client criteria and the service learning project description for our third and final project this semester. The Client Criteria reading assignment was very short and simply talked about what qualities to look for in a company to work with for our service learning team project. Some of the most important characteristics for the company include; being located in Lafayette or West Lafayette, no advertising department, willingness to work with us, and nonprofit or small business. Most of this information was located within the project description, but it was nice to see put together in a separate document to review before we started searching for a company to work with. The other reading assignment was the service learning project description located on the course website. Like the previous project descriptions, this document discussed what all is expected for the project, the individual deliverables, and the distribution of the grade percentages. Since this is a team project, ninety percent of our grade is based on group work while the remaining ten percent is based on individual performance. According to the project summary within this document our groups must consist of 2-4 people, which is good news because our group has already formed and we have 4 members. Also noted in the summary are some previously created documents such as brochures, press released, and marketing campaigns. All of these examples will be helpful as we begin to brain storm about what we can create for our company. Also included in this document is a link to Journal and Courier, which contains a list of all the business organizations located in Lafayette. Both of these reading responses will be good references as we select a business to work with and start helping them.
