Fortunately, the group I was a part of for the White Paper project worked very well together, therefore we are going to work together on the Service Learning Project. For the White Paper we addressed the problems Almost Home Humane Society is facing with their Open-Door Policy, which deals with taking in stray animals. Almost Home Humane Society is lacking the funds and kennel space to take in stray animals, therefore they are having to close their Open-Door Policy. Our Service Learning Project can be the creation of a brochure or website to inform and persuade potential pet owners. We have numerous sources and ways to research information. Setting up times to interview with employees at Almost Home Humane is a great inside source for information. The internet is also another great source, especially other Humane Society's policies and ways of dealing with lack of funding and kennel space. For our White Paper Project we talked about adding additional information to their already established website, to inform potential pet owners of the information we have found. Although, my group is set on using Almost Home Humane Society as our client for the Service Learning Project, another possibility could be For a Purdue organization, I'm not sure which organization, but what we could do is a brochure, create some sort of visual aide or flyer to distribute throughout campus so persuade students to join or part-take in the organizations activities. Interviewing current members of the organization and researching online are two sources of information.
