Because there were no real specified readings this week, I instead will discuss the benefit of the peer evaluations we completed.
Editting the White Papers of other groups within the class helped us to see different ideas for the paper that we might not have seen ourselves. This could be in regards to organizing content with headings and subtitles, the format and design, or even the color schemes used to emphasize the subject of the paper.
Having our White Paper editted helped for the obvious reason of receiving constructive criticism from peers. I find that sometimes, seeing your own paper or project everyday makes it easier to miss mistakes and overlook common errors. An outside source many times is more likely to catch these problems. It is also helpful to receive advice from various points of view. Because the peer evaluation form was so thorough, we were able to significantly improve our White Paper based on the feedback we received.
All in all, the peer evaluations were a very valuable resource, from the standpoint of both the editor and the writer.
