My idea for the white paper project is to raise awareness and try and get Purdue to be more Eco-Friendly. This would mean going beyond just recycling. I have already done a little research, and there are special light bulbs that are more efficient, and environment safe paints and cleaners. I am sure with more research I can find more things Purdue could implement. This project idea can also be tied in to Project 3 for the class. There are several environmental organizations here at Purdue that might be interested. I think going Eco-Friendly could potentially put Purdue ahead of other universities which would bring a new crowd of students to the school. Not only would this project help the environment, it would also benefit Purdue as an organization. This topic would be directed towards Purdue construction and building maintenance, but I also think that Purdue should promote and advertise what they are doing so the student body, faculty, and staff know what is going on. The majority of people here at Purdue are not here to stay. Everything they learn about how to be Eco-Friendly will transfer with them, and they could potentially pass it on to their business, home, or other groups they belong too. Eventually, more and more people will be informed about Eco-Friendly products and ways of life. Helping the environment has to start somewhere.
