Last reading response! For this last week of class, there were not too many documents that required reading. There is a Powerpoint on what to include in the service learning project presentation. My group and I followed these guidelines and structures when preparing our presentation. We wanted to make sure and include everything that was expected of us. We used the introduction, forecast, point 1, point 2, wrap-up format. We introduced our client and we created for them. Then we said what we were going to talk about in the rest of the presentation. Our first point was about the design of the document. The second point was about the content and why we chose to include the information. We finally conluded with how the client will be able to change the document in the future. We also thanked him for letting us work with him for this project, and that we cannot wait to see our brochure around campus. Another slide talks about the delivery of the presentation. For the most part, we did not use notecards. I had made some but had rehearsed enough that I did not need them. Our audience asked several questions that I thought we were well prepared for. The other document was not really much to read, but we filled them out when other groups presented, rating them on scales of how effective their presentation was.

Now that the class is concluding, I would like to say that I enjoyed working with my group all semester. We got along great and I feel we turned two really great products. This class kept me busy, but I enjoyed creating a document for a client. It was more enjoyable knowing that the brochure we created was actually going to be used by the recycling department and students would actually see it. I hope that our brochure really does improve the recycling program here at Purdue and that it makes a difference.
