Although the Oral Presentations powerpoint had both its good and bad points. I found it very helpful in determining what to include in our presentation. At first, I wasn’t sure where to start with the presentation (other than that it should be aimed at the client of course). Reading through this powepoint presentation gave me some direction. Starting with slide 5 it becomes helpful, before that are things that are either obvious or things that I don’t think most people actually sit down and think about. An example of this is the distance between the speaker and the listeners. Should people think about this? I’m sure that it many settings this can make for a more effective presentation, but for many of the presentations that students make in classes in college and, in my somewhat limited experience in the workplace, the distance/formality is basically predetermined and understood by all. It’s simply not something that you need to worry about ahead of time. People often just instinctively understand the distance they should keep.
