Our meeting from last week with our contact person was canceled but we were able to meet with her today. We showed Janet Shepherd our proposal and discussed what was in it. We talked about the main topics involved within each brochure. She agreed with us about how important the issues we want to discuss within the brochures. Within each brochure we will be talking about basic facts and statistics of alcohol, marijuana, and tobacco. Then also we will include warning signs and how to start a positive conversation with the parents' children. We were also given some brochures the police department had previously used. We are going to go through these and see if there is any information we could use in our own brochures.

Ms. Shepherd did approval our proposal and seems extremely excited for our completed work. There are not any additional changes that need to be made other than the ones we made last week. We plan on having our own rough drafts done by tomorrow, Wednesday the 16th. Then on Friday we hope to have them prepared for the class to review. We are also going to be either meeting or emailing Ms. Shepherd our brochures on Friday. Then she can review them and let us know if she would like anything added or changed. We are very excited to help the West Lafayette D.A.R.E. program and create beneficial material for the parents within the program.
