This week has been pretty busy with just trying to contact our client to set up the meeting to deliver our proposal to him. The only time we met this week was today, in which we ended up showing our client the proposal and changing a few things. Other than that, we are just preparing to create our rough draft for the documents we plan to make. Justin Tokarczyk got a chance to e-mail the Purdue student radio station (1610AM) to see if they could put out a public service announcement, and they e-mailed him back saying that they would have no problem doing that for us. Nate and Justin T are working on contacting the Boiler Television Network as well as the West Lafayette Television station to see if they would be able to also put out a public service announcement. We plan on meeting either Sunday or Monday to begin creating our brochure and information sheets. We also will be e-mailing some people from other organizations who work to keep the Wabash River clean, to gather some more information on “De-Trash the Wabash.” By early next week, we hope to have the rough drafts complete for our project, and ready to show our client. We will need to collect a lot of information over the weekend in order to create a well written brochure. Besides the client meeting, we didn’t do a whole lot this week except just the beginning stages of creating our project.
Client Meeting Report:
During our meeting today at 11:30 AM with our client, Bernie Dahl, Justin T, Nate, and Steve delivered the proposal and worked out some details concerning it. We discussed some in depth information which we will be using for our brochure and information sheets. Overall, our he liked the proposal, though we did change a few things. Instead of creating flyers, we are now making three different information sheets, which will go in a bin that Banks of The Wabash and its supporters are sending out to other communities that lie along the Wabash River. This bin contains the tools needed to set up an event such as “De-Trash the Wabash”, and will encourage the community to help clean up the river. Our information sheets will include things such as contents of the bin, helpful hints for attempting to start up a clean-up event, and safety precautions when holding the event. We are still going to create a brochure which will give background on Banks of the Wabash and “De-Trash the Wabash.” Bernie said that he will e-mail some of the other organizations in the area which work with Banks of the Wabash to see if they have any information that will help us when creating our brochure/information sheets. He also liked the idea of creating public service announcements through radio and television, and was glad to hear that the radio station already agreed to do it. Bernie seemed to like the deadlines we had set up. We told him that there would be a draft by next week that he can look over and revise. We told him that everything we created would also be on a disk for him to look at. He doesn’t seem too worried about us not getting the deliverables on time, which actually motivates us more to make sure we make him proud. So far, we have had great communication with our client, and look forward to hearing from him this weekend with some more information.
