Our work on the third project this week was a little scattered, to say the least. At the beginning of the week, we were still not sure of our client. It wasn’t until Wednesday that we finally had our client secured, and we then had the task of figuring out a time to meet up with them. Our client is Greater Lafayette Recreational Soccer Association. Because the week was drawing to a close, we weren’t able to find a time to all meet with the client. Instead, on Thursday night at 8:20pm, Cedric and I (Lauren) went to meet them. It was a very productive meeting, and by 9:20 we had everything pretty well figured out. We started by telling what we thought we could provide to GLRSA, and he (meaning Mr. Cupp) then said what he thought would be most beneficial. We decided on doing a brochure for them, which they can then use in many ways. Mr. Cupp had laid out a lot of things that he would like to have done. For example, he said they always need more referees, as well as more volunteers for things like cleaning up the fields, cutting grass, and lining the fields. He also would like to have more people get involved in the committee, and could also use more coaches and sponsors. He explained how they usually get sponsors, and we all thought that in creating a brochure, that process could be a lot more simplified. Our discussions also led us to talk about updating the GLRSA website, www.glrsa.org. We said that we’d really like to do it, but for now we don’t know if we’ll have the time to. I personally think that it could be possible, as creating a brochure about GLRSA can’t possibly be that time consuming. It was great to meet with Mr. Cupp, because we found out a lot of places he would like to work on improving. Overall he was very excited for us to start working on the project, and we’re all on the same page about what should be done. This weekend, our group (mostly Eric and Cedric though, because Filip and I are going out of town) will work on the proposal which is due Monday. After that, it will be time to start dividing up tasks and working on the brochure.
