This week provided a major challenge for our group. We were planning to do our on project for The Candy Bar in Chauncey Hill, but as the teacher said in class we needed to make sure that the client was going to work for us just as we are going to be working for them. The Candy Bar was the main company that we were focusing on, so we scheduled our first meeting during class time on Wednesday. We arrived at The Candy Bar at 10 o’clock, which is the time it is suppose to open, and no one was at the business. We waited outside the store till 10:30 but we were not able to contact the owner during that time. As a group we knew that we needed to start trying to secure a different client because The Candy Bar did not seem to be a reliable client. We went to the Boiler Volunteer Center office inside of Stewart Center to talk with the president of the Boiler Blast program. She was more than happy to help us with our project and she thought of the project that we could do for Boiler Blast. We are going to make a series of company specific letter that their group can use to urge local businesses to donate to the Boiler Blast program. We are going to be meeting with our client again on this coming Wednesday. At this meeting we are going to be getting more statistics from the company so that we can add that information into our letter. Our group’s goal for the end of next week is to have at least one company letter done to show our client and have her approve us to continue making letters for the other companies. Overall, the last week was a major stepping stone in the right direction for our project.
