The readings for this week were very helpful in creating our 300-word memo and preparing for the formal proposal. I now fully understand that this project starts off in a persuasive manner. Our group will be persuading an organization to believe and do various things. First, we are persuading them that there is a problem within their organization and a potential for improvement. We are then persuading them that we understand their problem and that we have the ability to solve it. Next, we are persuading the organization to allow us to work on improving the issue, that we are qualified to do so, and that the benefits outweigh the costs of our efforts.
From these readings, we now know what is expected in our group’s proposal. So, while we wrote the memo, we were sure to select appropriate organizations that would fulfill the expectations of the proposal that we will eventually write. We also made sure to choose organizations that we thought could be easily persuaded of their potential for improvement and their need for our help. In the end, I believe that we will be able to significantly assist our client and complete a very strong, mutually beneficial project.
