After successfully completing the White Paper Project, our group, Adam Corbin, Chris Miller, Nicole Sobkowiak, and David Bruot decided to remain together for the third and final project. This week most of our efforts were focused on finding potential clients to work with during this project. We decided that the three companies that we would most like to work with (starting with our first choice) are Friends of Bob, Von’s Shops, and Urban Ministry of Lafayette. After selecting our three potential companies, we needed to create a memo addressed to Mr. Ghering to ask for his permission to continue with our project. It took us a long time to decide on which three companies we would like to work with, so we had to meet on Tuesday around 7 p.m. in Hicks. Unfortunately Adam had other meetings that he had previously committed to, so only Chris, Nicole, and I were at the meeting. We started by doing a little bit of brainstorming and then we reviewed the reading, from the course site, on writing memos. The communication throughout this meeting was fairly focused on the task at hand, with only a few distractions. We finished drafting the memo a little after 9 o’clock that night and Nicole submitted it to Mr. Ghering via e-mail on Wednesday morning. Our memo was approved by Mr. Ghering, so we will begin contacting our potential clients in the near future, beginning with Friends of Bob. We are hoping to meet with at least one of the companies early next week to see if they are a good match for our group or not. Overall, everything seems to be going well at this point in our project. There has been sufficient communication and everyone seems to be putting forth a strong effort.

What are you all thinking of doing with Lafayette Urban Ministry? We had thought of working with them too, but ended up going with someone else. I know they needed help with a website if that helps!

Yeah, I was wondering what you were planning on doing to. I personally called them to ask about several ministries that have going and none seemed very interested in any help.
