Oral Presentations

This week for our reading responses, we were to read about oral presentations. With our third and final project coming to a close, our presentation is just around the corner. Since we are not allowed to use a powerpoint presentation for this assignment, we need to figure out a different way to deliver our content to our classmates.

Project Log for Week 14: Project 3 Nearing the End (Group 2)

As we are nearing the end of the semester, Project 3 is finally winding down. There were a few things to do this week since the rough draft is due Friday, and the final draft is due Monday. Also, once we are done presenting our final project to our class, it will be time to present our final document to our client.

PWOnline Readings

This week for our readings, we were suppose to read three sections within PWOnline. These sections were about ethics, gender in the workplace, and plagiarism. These readings were very informatative since we are in the process of designing and creating our project.

The Ten Rules of Effective Language

This week, our main reading that was assigned to us was the article titled, "The Ten Rules of Effective Language." This article was very informative in telling us how to properly go about presenting information in a proper language to our client.

Project Log for Week 11: Project 3 in the Beginning (Group 2)

For our Client Based Project, we have decided to keep the same group as we had for the White Paper Project. We had a lot of success with our last project when we worked together, so there is no reason why we should change the group around.

We started out the week by looking at each one of our client ideas blog posts. All of us had different and unique clients, but only one of them stood out. The new coffee shop, Greyhouse Coffee & Supply Co., seemed like an ideal client. After discussing the possibility of this company as our client, it was time to write the memo.

Proposals

This week we had quite a few readings compared to the last couple of weeks. All of the readings this week were about writing proposals. There were five different sections of readings for us to read, and I believe all of these readings were very beneficial.

Client Possibilities

For the first step in our third and final project in ENGL 420, we have to select two possible clients. One possible client is the Purdue Recreational Center. This would make a good client for us because they are in the discussion and planning process of creating another recreational facility on the Purdue campus. What we could do for them is create a brochure explaining the aspects that will go into producing this facility and its features.

Project #3

As our second project is winding down this week, we are being introduced to our third and final project in our readings for this week. The readings were not terrible readings at all, but we actually quite interesting. Both of these readings discussed aspects of this Client-Based Service Learning Project.

Team #2 Work Blog: David Osborne

Currently our project is finished! Kevin and I met tonight at 9 p.m. to finish up the final copy of our white paper. We went through all of the peer reviews and re-read it ourselves to make sure all the grammar and formatting was correct. We also rearranged some of the figures and text boxes to make the layout of the paper more professional.

Reading Response?

This week, it seems that there are no reading assignments for us to write about. Instead I will be writing about the peer reviews that I have written and what I have discovered with other classmates' white papers.
