Week 13 Project Log

This week was a mediocre week for our group.  It seemed that a lack of communication almost prevented us from completing an assignment.  The technical marketing project proposal that was due Wednesday got turned in last minute.  A meeting was tenatively scheduled for Wednesday but there was little talk between group members.  A few people came together at the end and the task was completed.  I feel that in the future we will need to have better communication and utilize the fact that we are all so close to campus.

I fully understand your dilemma. What I have learned in this class is that communicaiton is the key. In particular, email communication which has to be checked daily, sometimes twice during crunch time of an assignment being due. The emails our group communicated with was always sent out to all members so they could follow along with what the other group members were working on and see how it all fit together. Even the individuals who were the compilers were the ones who sent their drafts out to all to comment on. It is too bad that your team did not talk that much at this part of the course since by now you should have been like a well oiled machine with each member stepping up. I guess that one member actually had to become like the group leader who coordinated everything and everybody. That leader would act like the general who getst the overall gameplan feedback from each group member and then sets out the plan, strategy and job tasks of each member. If each member totally understands what they have to do, when they have to do it by, and get it ou to all group members, then this course flows smoothly. If this aspect is not agreeable or does not work because of a communication breakdown, this course with the group project aspects becomes problematic.
