Project Log Weeks 15&16: Final Technical Marketing Log

engr_emily's picture
The revisions on this were minimal and easily completed. The goal is to submit it early with the chance to allow for extra time to submit another draft, if need be. I really hope that it won't be needed since next week is finals week and that will be my main concern. I am impressed with the document that my group has come up with and look forward to hearing what Tracy has to say about the next revision. This is my last log for the technical marketing document and I think that this taught me a lot about how to market a product and what the consumers look for.

Project Log Weeks 15&16: Final White Paper Log

Our team finished the final revision of the white paper and have sent it to Tracy for final grading. Not much was done except some wording and other gramatical issues. This did not take long and was the only thing that needed to be done to the paper. Everyone in the group did an amazing job in this project and I am so glad that I was able to be in a group that worked well together and everyone pitched in equally. I hope this last draft is the best it can be.

Project Log Week 14: Technical Marketing and White Paper

Again, it is easier to post both my project logs together since my main responsibility is updating the white paper for draft 3. As you may recall, last week I mentioned how my group split up into two teams of two, on half works mainly on the technical marketing project and the other half on the white paper project. The technical marketing group is doing a great job! Even though there was some confusion over what was due when, I believe they did a great job with the first draft of the technical marketing document. As for

Week 13 Reading Response

I decided to use Adobe Photoshop to edit a picture with layers since I have never used layers before in Photoshop. This new layer is to be blended with the existing picture. I figure out how to do it by just playing around with the controls. It took awhile, but I eventually got it to do what I wanted. Another program that I could have used is Microsoft Paint since I am familiar with it, but I don’t think it could do what I wanted. My decision is done because of my little knowledge of other programs and the capabilities they

Project Log Week 13: Technical Marketing and White Paper Combined

This week has been a very busy week for me outside of this class. I have senior design, which is kicking my butt, and I am taking the FE exam tomorrow which I have been studying for this week. I decided to put both logs into one post since they are both going to be short this week. The main thing is that our group decided to split up so two people focus on the technical marketing log while the other two focus on the white paper project. I am part of the white paper group with Jason. We decided to work on the white

Project Log Week 12: Technical Marketing Project Research 2

engr_emily's picture

This week our team has continued research for the technical marketing project. As mentioned in my last project log, our group decided to go with interactive white board technology used in educational settings. We have also focused more on who exactly is our target audience. Our main target audience is teachers and our other, but not particularly focused upon, audience are the students in a variety of classroom levels. Communication for this paper has been challenging since as the semester nears the end everyone is busy with

Project Log Week 12: White Paper Revision 2

We just received comments from Tracy from our white paper second draft. Unfortunately we did not create as good a white paper as we had anticipated. This is really the extent of what has happened this week for the white paper project. The next step is to take the great comments Tracy provided us on our second draft and work to improve these areas of need. After that we will submit the third white paper draft for further review from Tracy.

Rhetorical and Document Design Issues

The sample document that I chose to focus on was the Rotary Kiln Combustion Systems document. The format of the document is an electronic document that can be seen online or printed off. Even though I am not personally interested in this product, or those like it, I enjoyed the document and perceived it very well since it was easy to read. The information was presented in a way that even someone with my limited knowledge of this area could understand. They did this with their design and the writing style. The document was very colorful,

Technical Marketing Project Clarification

When first reading the technical marketing project guidelines I was thinking it had to be in a brochure format. Looking at the technical marketing documents posted to the website it seems like there can be a variety of ways to do the project such as a multiple page layout. I also thought there should be more writing, such as paragraphs, but it seems like bullets or short sentences are the way to go. This will be good since we are trying to give the most information in the least amount of space so the

Project Log Week 11: White Paper Revision

engr_emily's picture

This week not much was done with our white paper since we turned in our draft two on Monday for further review. The second draft of the white paper was significantly better visually and informatively than our first white paper draft. Main concentrations for the week have been on our new technical marketing project and researching for that. The next step for the white paper is to wait to get Tracy’s new feedback and then revise for our white paper draft three.
