Week 11
Marketing guide reaction

I think that the Marketing guide project will be pretty cool. I like being able to be more creative, and slightly more laid back with my work than the previous two projects. This one isn't about just writing to write. This project will allow me to decide how I want to deliver the information. If I think I will be able to relay information using tables and graphics I will be able to do that. If there is some information that will be better placed into a couple of paragraphs I can also do that. The more informal writing is much more my style.

Technical Marketing Log
Posted March 27th, 2008 by twriter12Today was the first day we met as a group. The first thing we did was exchange e-mails to keep in contact with each other. We began discussing what would be the best topic to begin with. Then we started discussing what would be the best product from that topic. We went over a few ideas and finally came across and really good one will surfing the web. We then discussed the potiental of this idea, who we planned on being our target audience and what our document design would be.

Technical Marketing Reaction
Posted March 27th, 2008 by twriter12When I first read about the technical marketing project, I
thought that it might be easier than the white paper project. With the
technical marketing project, you are pretty much just get the word our about a
product or service that you are trying to sell. This could be compared to a
teenager going around their neighborhood handing out flyers for a lawn mowing
service or something like that. Although this will entail much more details and
in-depth analysis of what service or product you are trying to get across. This

White Paper Project Log
Posted March 27th, 2008 by twriter12This was the last week my group and I worked together on the project. We did some finishing touches on our draft. We added some graphics, images, charts and graphs to make our project more appealing to our audience. We expanded on a few sections of our paper to make it longer, detailed and more in-depth. We added explanations on our visuals to make sure that our readers knew what we were trying to show them. We did some more minor research on different aspects of our paper to add a little more to them and we cited these in our bibliography.

Week 11 Project Log
Posted March 26th, 2008 by radeo08This week my group was able to revise many of the inconsistencies in the first draft of our white paper in order to make the second draft more illustrative and persuasive. In doing so, as per recommendations, we added some examples of OSS that could be beneficial to small businesses, visual aids that can act as a supplement to the text, and some examples of businesses that had implemented OSS and how the change has affected them. In doing this, I feel as if our paper has become much better and our argument much more credible.

Technical Marketing Response
Posted March 26th, 2008 by cprofiloI am really looking forward to this project. It looks like it is going to be based more on design rather than a 10-12 page paper. I like a lot of the examples that were showed. It will be neat to see what the groups final project is going to look like. I have a lot interest in science so designing a brochure or add for some pharmaceutical/science product would be really thrilling to me. I am glad that the final draft will be in color and not black and white. I like to design rather than write.

Project Log White Paper Project
Posted March 25th, 2008 by dog_lover_12345Our group met tonight for several hours to finish putting
together draft 2 of the white paper. We had several things that were our
main focuses: adding examples of open source software programs to the
history section of our paper, expanding on our analysis section of our paper,
adding a case study of a business using/important to OSS, and adding graphics throughout our
paper. We ended up expanding our paper by 8 pages, including a table of
