Writing Prompt 3

The documentation review and usability testing with others has really helped me with my own project. While I was creating it, I was always questioning if I was using the correct amount of pictures or if there were too few/many. After being about to see somebody else’s, it was nice to know that I was on the right track. Also, by being about to critique their project, it led me to be more critical of my own work. Because of this I was able to find typos that had been accidentally glanced over before and paragraphs that did not make too much sense on the first read through. Another thing, because we were both using OpenOffice software, we were both aware of the fact that the program had to be downloaded and then opened. However, my partner decided to show this procedure in his document while I assumed that we were writing for people who already had OpenOffice and would not have to go through this. After reading my partner’s document and talking to him about it, I realized that I too had to show this process.

As for my partner’s program (OpenOffice Math) itself, I had never used it before so it was interesting to learn how. Sadly, because this program is used to create easy-to-read math equations/problems, it is something I do not see myself using very often. Since I am graduating and going into management or HR position, complex math equations are not something we come across very often. However, it is nice to have a basic knowledge of the program in case anything ever comes up.
