RV Challenge

To market an RV without potential customers running away because of gas prices, I would strongly emphasize the benefits to owning an RV. The way to sell the product to the customer is to have him/her believe the benefits to owning a RV outweigh the benefits of saving a few bucks on gas. It is the same way SUV’s are marketed and continue to sell well. Although the SUV potentially will guzzle up more gas than an average and small car, customers are willing to pay it because of the safety and comfort that comes with owning an SUV.

As the case for the RV, it has to be marketed to prove to customers that benefits such as on-the-go entertainment, food, and shelter will outweigh the benefits of saving a few dollars on gas. I would also emphasize alternatives that can be made to save gas while owning an RV. One type of alternative is to bring a car along that would be used primarily when the RV is not on the road. I would also emphasize how money can be saved in other forms that will counter-balance the amount of gas money spent, such as not paying food at restaurants and not having to pay for a hotel.
