RV Response
Posted April 24th, 2008 by kevoIf I were developing technical marketing literature for a
large RV that got 8-10 MPG on the highway I would emphasize the ways in which
an RV could save you money. For example,
you wouldn’t have to worry about hotel fair. I would attempt to make the
argument that in today’s economy the prices of many are rising. From what I
have read in the news in recent days, I
think this is a valid argument. I just read articles about the prices of food
and cotton rising because of the rising costs of energy and fertilizer. The
Technical Marketing Reactions
Posted April 1st, 2008 by kevoI tend to look down on technical marketing documentation because their primary purpose always seems to be to sell me the product. I'd prefer more detailed documents that tell me all the hardware specifications that I want to know. An example is when I am shopping for an LED flashlight I would like to know the output in lumens, the battery life, the methodology used in measuring the battery life, the manufacturer and model of the LED, and the materials used in the construction of the body. Most technical marketing documentation only gives superficial details about those areas.

Reading Response 6: Use of Visuals
Posted March 20th, 2008 by kevoThe three main categories of visuals I plan on including in my group's whitepaper are graphs, pictures, and table. The graph will be a line graph of AOL's stock price for the last 10 years. AOL's stock price has seen large declines from its peak in 2000. I hope to emphasize the failure of the walled garden example with that hard data.

Reading Response 5: White Paper Evaluation
Posted February 22nd, 2008 by kevo"British White Paper of 1922"
This white paper competently summarizes the current state of affairs in Palestine. Although an audience is not mentioned one could imagine this document is used for getting political figures educated on the Palestine political situation, as well as for historical and archival purposes. This paper is written almost like a research paper so the argument base is built within the whitepaper using historical facts.
