Project Log, Technical Marketing Document
Posted May 2nd, 2008 by QrkOur group worked well together, but our document was a bit small do allow everyone to contribute. We all made much of our own ideas, but not everyone's got to go on the final project. I suppose this is necessary, as it was only a single page flyer. I, for instance, spent most of my time researching the side effects of Zoloft, but we decided, in the end, that our project didn't need a something that technical, it was more geared to nontechnical layman. I still think I got some excellent data.
Project Log, White Paper
Posted May 2nd, 2008 by QrkOur white paper project had some tough times getting started, but once we got the ball rolling it seemed to go well. The draft was quite elegant, and it really shone in terms of document design. I think the content was quite good, but it could have used some further work. First of all, we didn't make it cohesive enough, you could tell that four people each wrote a major section.
RV Marketing
Posted April 1st, 2008 by QrkRV Marketing
The high cost of gasoline does make it more difficult to market a large vehicle, such as a RV. However, there are certain things the marketer could do to help with such sales. The first, while not necessarily the marketer's ballgame, is to market a smaller RV. Perhaps the material could emphasize space efficiency, rather than the total size of the vehicle.
Technical Marketing Project
Posted March 25th, 2008 by QrkI'm looking forward to the technical marketing document project. I enjoyed the other two projects this semester, but I would like to do something more creative. In addition, the marketing project will allow us to use other formats, and to be more creative in document presentation. While I enjoy the technical side of things, the more important aspects of many documents is not that side, its the presentation.
Reading Response 5: White Papers
Posted February 23rd, 2008 by QrkWhite papers have a long history in open source projects, but none are more famous than "The Cathedral and the Bazaar," by Eric S Raymond, which was a paper about the rise of the Linux kernel and the displacement of some of the more established open source groups with a new, web based, movement.
Open Source Reading Response
Posted February 15th, 2008 by QrkI am well versed in open source software, as I have used linux as my home operating system for about four years now. Many people fail to grasp the importance of open source, while other fail to see where open source fails. The question of what open source, particually the growth of open source, means to a capatalistic society like the United States.
Reading Response Two
Posted January 21st, 2008 by QrkWriting in the workspace is quite different from writing in college. The primary reason for this is that in college, the professor does not have a vested interest in understanding your work. When a professsor reads a paper, he or she will grade it for clarity, etc, but not to actually use the paper. In the workspace, someone must actually understand a peice; style takes a backseat to meaning.
Response to Sucks-Less Writing
Posted January 16th, 2008 by QrkI enjoyed the tips that Gar gave. I often have some of the same problems that were addressed in he post. My favorite tips were the ones that I could use the most work using.
