Technical Document Week 3

The final week for the technical document consisted of our group putting the finishing touches on the final document and submitting the final draft for the final grade. Not a whole lot of work was done this week because there was not a whole lot to change on the document.

Technical Document Week 2

The main tasks that were completed this week were deciding on what type of document we were going to use and how the document was going to be laid out with the information we had dug up. After getting an idea of a rough draft for the document, our group got together to decide what program we were going to use. Once we decided on Microsoft Publisher, we got to work on creating the document. After a couple group meetings, the first draft of the document was ready to be turned in.

Technical Document Week 1

In the first week our group got together to meet everyone and decide who had what strengths when it came to an advertising technical document. Once we found out everyone's strengths, we were able to assign each group member a different part of the project. This allowed us to get more information about each section without wasting time by having two people do the same work. This was also the time that our group decided on what the technical document was going to be about.

White Paper Final Log

After recieving the email that said our group had made all the necessary adjustments, we were happy to see that everything worked out as well as it did. No more revisions were needed at this point as all the errors were fixed and everything was good. For the most part, the project went rather smoothly without any major roadblocks. Our team worked well together to make a paper that was very worthwhile to read. I think our group came together very well and we all worked well without any slackers to show.

White Paper Week 6

After getting the first graded paper back, our group felt pretty confident about the work that we had shown. Late meetings allowed us to add graphics and extra sections that were a vital part of making the paper as good as it was. The first returned copy showed us having an A-, but we were still very pleased that this is the stage we were at this early in the process. The revisions involved a few more pictures that needed to be added to the top since the report was bottom heavy with pictures. A little longer history section was the only other needed part which was easily fixed.

White Paper Week 5

The initial comments on our first draft of the white paper project were returned to us this week. We already had a good idea on where most of the pictures would come from and where they would be placed in the paper so we were off to a good start. Overall, the comments were mostly positive and very helpful. The main problems with the paper were that certain areas needed a little more work in order to better describe our plan. Besides this, only a few gramatical errors were slowing us down.

White Paper Week 4

The first draft of the white paper project hasa been completed and turned in for review. Meeting outside of the classroom did not seem to be as big of an issue as we originally thought it would have been. This allowed our whole group to get together and have everyone put their thoughts together to make the best first draft that we thought we could make. The first draft did not include any images and was shallow on a few areas but these are both areas that can be easily fixed for the second draft.

White Paper Week 3

This week we decided what each person in the group would be doing. We decided these parts by talking about how everyone answered the survey given in class. This helped us narrow down who could help the most in specific areas of interest. After deciding who would do each task, we began the research part of the project. With each member having their own section to research, we will get the most out of the research time by having each member focus on a specific task rather than the entire project.

White Paper Week 2

This week we all decided for sure that the small business world would be the best choice to choose from. We were comtemplating between the large business and the small businesses but we figured that the small businesses would be able to utalize a cheap open source software better than a big business corporation with a large budget to spend on marketing and software for the business. Our group also started to decide what subjects of the smaller business world we would be attacking.

White Paper Week 1

The first week was mainly about getting together with our group and trying to decide what part of open source software we would research. It didn't take long for all five of us to agree that the small business world would be an exciting target to research. By keeping the subject as small businesses, we have narrowed our search down to get more precise facts about a smaller field. We have found that our schedules are quite different from eachothers. This may cause some problems when trying to meet, but I'm sure we'll find a way to manage.
